Junior Buyer - Oil & Gas

£18,000 - £24,000

Due to company growth, we are looking for a Junior Buyer, ideally who will have some experience or knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry. You will work in a team, creating relationships with existing customers, supporting management by taking incoming calls and dealing with any enquiries or queries. This is a busy and varied role, requiring someone who is looking to grow their career within a procurement environment.

Main Duties:

The buyer will work with business clients, supporting all of their procurement requests, creating and sending out quotes and identifying the best pricing for materials.

  • Support the team with purchasing of materials
  • Daily processing of quotations on the internal system
  • Liaising with suppliers/manufacturers to identify best pricing for materials
  • Liaising with team managers to ensure all projects are looked after
  • Researching new products and identifying new suppliers
  • Handle large pricing exercises for clients
  • Placing orders when required

Skills Required:

  • Some knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry
  • Excellent communication skills and confident manner
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel and databases
  • Customer service background, comfortable in a sales environment - NO SALES INVOLVED IN THIS ROLE
  • Works well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills

Hours of Work

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm

    • Continually look at ways to improve underwriting processes and procedures within the company.

    Previous Experience:

    You will have experience in underwriting mortgages, ideally holding a mandate although this is not essential. You will also have a good understanding of FCA regulatory obligations.
