Evening Customer Service Advisor

£8,500 - £10,700

Are you looking for part-time work? Are you able to work a maximum of 16 hours any time between 3.30pm and 8pm Monday to Thursday? In this customer services position, you will make outbound telephone calls to existing customers in order to take outstanding payments and/or organise payment plans for those who are in arrears.

You will receive a full range of benefits including discretionary bonus, increasing annual leave, contributory pension, private healthcare and excellent career progression.

Within this part-time Customer Service role, you will be responsible for:
- Contacting customers for repayment by telephone and letter
- Managing your own portfolio of cases
- Monitoring payments and handling direct debit returns
- Monitoring accounts and reviewing monthly
- Dealing with queries from clients and third parties

Full training will be given, although you will need some previous call handling experience and excellent communication skills. Patience and a passion for helping customers is essential.

    Tasks:

    You’ll be tasked with ensuring that customer mortgage applications are underwritten efficiently in line with company quality standards.

    Day to Day: Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm

    • Understand and evaluate the risks associated with every application 
    • Obtain all necessary documentation to make accurate and appropriate lending decisions
    • Manually underwrite applications efficiently and effectively
    • Liaise in a professional manner with third parties regarding applications
    • Manage own caseload and underwrite cases in accordance with company policy
    • Keep up to date with and apply current regulatory, legal and compliance practices
    • Continually look at ways to improve underwriting processes and procedures within the company.

    Previous Experience:

    You will have experience in underwriting mortgages, ideally holding a mandate although this is not essential. You will also have a good understanding of FCA regulatory obligations.
