You will be responsible for assessing and underwriting complex bridging applications from brokers and intermediaries to minimise risk to the company whilst adhering to regulations and standards, duties will include:

  • Assess and underwrite bridging loan applications in line with prevailing lending policy and mandate level
  • Managing own pipeline of cases
  • Assess and resolve risk or any issues of applications
  • Assess DIPs, credit reports and all documentation to ensure applications are verified
  • Review valuation reports
  • Approve and reject applications in line with policy and mandate
  • Recommend loans to the Underwriting Manager or Credit Team where they fall outside of the lending mandate held
  • Produce high quality and articulate credit summaries, presenting a clear rationale for proceeding with the loan
  • Communicating with all parties, building professional relationships with them

  • Bridging Underwriters x2 - 12 month FTC
    £40000 - £60000

    Do you have mortgage or bridging underwriting experience and are you looking to develop your career further. Are you looking to join a growing company for an initial 12 month contract in order to grow your skills in a short term lending team? 

    We are recruiting for 2 experienced Underwriters from any mortgage or bridging product environment to join an established team whilst a series of projects get under way. This is an exciting time to join the company, with scope to develop into a permanent role in the future. 

    Duties will include: 

    • Underwrite approved bridging loan applications 
    • Assess the risk attributed to the application and make a decision based on this
    • Build successful working relationships with third parties such as solicitors and valuers 
    • Understand and assess relevant supporting documentation such as credit reports, valuation reports and financial statements 
    • Approve or decline applications within mandate levels 
    • Monitor and report any fraudulent activity 
    • Work within regulatory requirements 

    You will have: 

    • Relevant mortgage, bridging, commercial or buy-to-let underwriting experience 
    • Enjoy working in an autonomous environment, as well as working as a team
    • Have the ability to make decisions and communicate these clearly 
    • A confident self-starter 
    • Excellent numeracy skills

You’ll be tasked with driving strategic growth, researching potential motor trade partners, nurturing and developing relationships with a view to recruit them into the network.
