Business Development Manager

£35,000 - £40,000

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Client Services team as a new Business Development Manager. The purpose of this position is to build awareness and interest in this division of a successful group of companies. Bonuses are both individual and company based, and they are uncapped. This position can be office or home based but you will need to spend time in the office on a weekly basis in order to build internal relationships and to understand the company ethos.The rest of the time, you will be out in the field either at meetings or events nationally.

You will have some experience winning business within the retail space, including knowledge of RFIs and the tender process. You will be generating, nurturing and converting leads through the development and implementation of an effective sales plan, working in conjunction with the Sales Executive and Marketing Executive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive awareness and interest in the services of the company
  • Researching and developing relationships with new prospects – executing engagement, contact plans and lead-generation activity
  • Promote and follow up on marketing campaigns and thought-pieces designed to capture decision-maker's interest
  • Be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries
  • Present products and services to prospects and clients, via face-to-face, telephone and webinar activity
  • Develop compelling proposals for engaged prospects
  • Attend industry events and provide feedback and information on market trends
  • Track contact activity and conversations, gathering intelligence on job role changes, contract renewal dates
  • Help to shape the business development strategy, tactics and approaches
  • Create and own a library of proposition and service collateral to support the sales process
  • Actively engage the wider business, sharing key initiatives and collaborating to achieve success
  • Support a culture of business development amongst the entire team, ensuring they have a sound understanding of the sales strategy

Attributes, Skills and Experience                                                        

  • Minimum 2 years business development experience, ideally with some connections within the retail sector
  • Commercially-minded and focused on outcomes
  • Proven experience in generating new business development meetings in a professional services setting
  • A self-starter with a desire to talk to clients about their business problems and offer solutions
  • Target driven with a creative, positive attitude
