Part-time Buyer/Merchandiser - Accessories - 6 month contract

£35,000 - £43,000

6 month maternity cover, part-time hours available including working 4 or 5 days per week and ability to work school hours.

Reporting to the Buying Manager, we are looking for an experienced Buyer/Merchandiser to select and buy  a range of branded  merchandise for the European division of the company. Working within a team of 6, you will be involved in product selection from a range of brands, as well as analysis, administration and replenishment of stock. This is a hands-on role, therefore relevant experience within buying or merchandising is essential, along with high levels of numeracy and the ability to use Excel on a daily basis. 

Responsibilities:

  • Selecting a range of suitable products for Europe and negotiating prices
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with all suppliers
  • Create SKU’s in the system and placing regular Purchase Orders, following through to delivery
  • Analysis of sales v stock, trends by price point,  and country of shipment

Requirements:

  • Experience in similar Buyer/Merchandiser position
  • Excellent computer  and analysis skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong negotiation  and organisational skills
  • Excellent team player who isn't afraid to get stuck in

You’ll be joining the company to question their ways of working, using your experience and knowledge to provide an action plan to ensure the operation runs smoothly.

    This role is starting as a temporary role that may progress into a permanent role.
